Blackboard Learn 9.1 - October 2014 Release
|Assessments||Under "Show Test Results and Feedback" It appears that using the option "After Attempts are graded" is not work as expected. After all the attempts have been graded students are still unable to see feedback.||Change the option to "After Availability End Date", or "After Due Date" and recheck the All Answers, Correct, and Submitted options needed. This seemed to fix the issue and allows the student to see feedback.|
|Assessments||Page Does Not Automatically Focus to Error Message in "Create/Edit Multiple Choice Question" Page|
|Assessments||Student assessment gets submitted automatically when student exceeds 3 hour Blackboard session timeout. Although the student remains active in the assessment the Blackboard session timeout causes the assessment to be submitted and the student is logged out of Blackboard.||Contact the student and provide an additional test attempt. Ask the student to resume the additional attempt where they left off from the original attempt. Faculty must then grade both attempts and enter a manual grade in the Grade Center for the assessment. TIP: To avoid this issue consider delivering the test one question at a time (see test options).|
|Assignments||Crocodoc does not render some texts when trying to download students Microsoft Word document submissions.||Download the document to view the entire text.|
|Content Management||Upon creating new content folders or learning modules within a course, you attempt to move content items into those new folders or modules but they appear missing from the destination selection list.||The refresh button does not list the folders but clicking the collapse all and expand all will refresh the list.|
|Content Management||After you have made new content folders in a course and you go to move an content item into those folders they are missing from the destination selection list.||The refresh button does not list the folders but clicking the collapse all and expand all will refresh the list|
|Content Management||Video Everywhere in the Content Editor will continue to prompt users to grant access every time they use the tool.||Users have to continuously approve the connections to Google.|
|Content Management||Opening PDF files in the parent window results in a small viewable area compared to opening the file in a new window.||Student: Refresh the page or use the link above the document to open in new window.
Instructor: Set the file options to "Open in New Window"
|Courses List||Courses that are marked as available, but are not accessible to students due to the Start Date or End Date of the course, are still listed in the course-to-course navigation tool. This impacts both courses with Start Dates in the future and End Dates in the past. Attempting to access the course returns a "Resource not found error". Course which have available set to no are not listed in the course-to-course navigation tool.||No workaround solution available. Currently waiting for Blackboard to resolve in future release.|
|Course Management||When adding or modifying an Adaptive Release Rule with a Membership criterion, a list of all Users in the System is provided to select from rather than just the list of Students enrolled in the Course. The system allows adding non-enrolled Users in the criterion for Adaptive Release.||Create a group containing just the students for adaptive release, then assign that group to the adaptive release member criteria. OR create a list of enrolled student usernames and choose from that.|
|Discussions||When you access a discussion board, you are prompted to set an author of anonymous posts. In trying to set the author the prompt reappears and a message at the top of the page says “Failed to process de-anonymization selection”||Set all threads to "No, leave messages as anonymous" from the pop-up prompt. Then in List View of the forum, change each thread author using the "Change Author" option from the "Thread Actions" menu.|
|Discussions||All Threads are not Selected when "Select All" is used in Tree View of the Discussion Thread page||Select items one at a time
Use List View to select all threads.
|Discussions||When in a discussion board there are enough posts so the user needs to scroll down to display them, the blue icon is not removed for the bottom posts, therefore leaving those posts in unread status.||Click the icon to manually change the status of the message to mark it as read|
|Discussions||Multiple users in a course are subscribed to a discussion forum. The enrollment for one of the users subscribed to forum is disabled. As new threads and posts are made to the discussion forum emails will only be sent to users subscribed to the forum and listed alphabetically on the course roster before the disabled enrollment||Un-dropping the student that was subscribed. Using the Options menu for the subscribed Forum and choosing Manage. Switching the dropped student(s) to Blocked. Re-dropping them from the course.|
|Send Email Tool||Some email clients, such as Windows 10 Mail, do not use the "Reply-to" header of emails sent by BbLearn in order to populate the "To:" field when the user replies to the email.||Officially: None. Wait for fix in future release. OR: stick to internal communication (Messages, Discussions)|
