Open Textbook Workshop: Train the Trainer

A workshop for 1-2 OER champions from each community college campus Friday, March 4th, 2016 9:00 am PCC Sylvania, Oak Room (Cafeteria/College Campus/CC building) 12000 SW 49th Ave, Portland, OR 97219 Sarah Cohen and Dave Ernst from the Open Textbook Network will lead a train-the-trainer workshop. After the workshop, you will be prepared to return to your college and offer an Open Textbook Workshop – with the support of the train-the-trainer cohort. The workshop that you will be trained to offer orients faculty to the basics of OER and then offers a $200 stipend for them to write a review of a textbook in the Open Textbook Library within 6 weeks of your workshop. You should select a date for the workshop that you will offer on your campus before you register for this session. Open Oregon funding will pay for faculty stipends. Deepen Your Institution’s Roots in Accessibility with QM Live! in April and May This spring, help your faculty and staff improve their courses’ accessibility by encouraging them to Spring into Action with interactive sessions featuring tools and takeaways they’ll use immediately to improve experiences for ALL learners.
