Selective Release
Selective Release
Presenting an entire online course to students all at once can be overwhelming, both for students and instructors. The Selective Release function in eLearn allows you to reveal portions of your class gradually, over time.
Similar to the Hide/Show controls present in most eLearn tools, when you use Selective Release criteria to remove items from student view, you will still be able to see them from the Teach and Build Tabs. The advantage to using Selective Release, however, is that you can program eLearn to hide or reveal parts of your class automatically according to the date/time you set, so you don’t need to be at your computer at the precise times you want items to be revealed or removed from student view.
Selective Release can reveal and/or hide course content based on
- Date and time (open a new Learning Module every Monday morning, or reveal an Assessment only during a scheduled exam time, without being at your computer at those precise times)
- Individual Members (manually select individuals for participation in different tasks)
- Groups (create discussions that only small groups can access)
- Gradebook Criteria (require that a student complete one milestone successfully before moving on to another task)
