Prepare yourself for teaching hybrid courses
Hybrid Workshop Description: This guide serves as a resource a to accompany your work in the hybrid course development process. The emphasis is on pedagogy and methodology of hybrid instruction, rather on specific technology or eLearn system tools. You will be looking at instructional design practices for both online and classroom instruction that align with established best hybrid practices and are exemplified by the Quality Matters national standards, as well as hybrid syllabus creation and Chemeketa’s policies for the establishment and delivery of hybrid courses.
The Hybrid New Course Development process will involve one initial consultation meeting with a Tech Hub faculty member here in the Tech Hub, at your office, or in a virtual meeting room, as many subsequent meetings as we feel are needed, and a final meeting in which we can use the Hybrid Course Readiness Review Checklist to determine that your course is ready for when you will begin to teach it.
Note: Completion of this process is required of faculty accepting an assignment to teach a hybrid course for Chemeketa Community College during the term prior to launching the hybrid course.
Successful completion is attained upon completion of development of the course as evidenced by the Hybrid Course Readiness Review.
Winter Term, January 23 – March 31, 2017
