Mariana Ruiz-Temple attended Chemeketa and was impressed to see so much diversity. During her studies, Mariana enjoyed topics like geology and science. This interest led her to the Oregon State Fire Marshal’s office in the hazmat program. She now serves as Oregon State Fire Marshall. Her goal is to protect Oregonians from hazmat in the Wildland Urban Interface area.
